Wow, I have been on the road a lot this month, but obviously the highlight was New York Fashion Week! I’ll be sharing what I wore over the next week or so, so stay tuned for a variety of looks…
We left bright and early on Thursday morning and headed to NYC, where we stayed at ROW NYC, in Times Square. I highly recommend this hotel, not only because of its fabulous accommodations, but the location is central to everything! The interior is trendy and chic, styled with neon lights and covered in images of Manhattan’s neighborhoods. It’s like being outside, in. Everything you need is readily available without leaving the hotel, a beauty bar, and indoor cycling class (I wish I had it in me to get up early enough to partake), and even a food hall (City Kitchen), featuring some of NYC’s finest eateries, all in one convenient space. We stopped in once each day for donuts and coffee at DOUGH, and also ramen and beers from Kuro Obi. Another highlight was District M, a swanky coffee bar by day and a cocktail lounge by night featuring live music. We began and ended each day there.
What I wore:
Mixed prints are very in right now… Not sure how to “make it work”? Look for prints with unifying colors, so the floral pattern in this pant is black on blue, similar to the leopard print shoes, black on tan. This is just an easy rule to remember if you’re unsure, but definitely doesn’t mean it must be followed always. Fashion is about self-expression, so if you love two patterns together, you should wear them. Maybe I should create a post specifically about mixing patterns? Would that be interesting? Helpful? Comment below!
I am loving this bright pink, open back top with cut-out bell sleeves. Pink and red are very popular in fashion right now, but look for lavender (ultra violet is the Pantone color of the year) and also yellow to be popping up everywhere. Details on this look linked below… Happy shopping!
