Trends This Summer: Unique Wooden Watches by JORD

unique wooden watch perfect gift

I feel like I see people wearing watches less and less these days, mainly because they have been replaced with smart phones, glued to everyone’s hand. I think it’s a shame.  I love watches and have a wide variety: silver, gold, leather, and now WOOD.  When JORD reached out to me for a collaboration right before I left for Bora Bora, I thought ”now this would be perfect to style with resort wear”.  The watch arrived in a dark wood box and was engraved with the words “Eat Well, Dress Well, Travel Often”… my mantra, you might say.

I typically see these watches styled in a more classic, preppy kind of way.  But I took a different route.  I chose the Olive and Aegean watch (a light olive wood with a deep blue face) and layered it with gold bracelets.  I styled it with several outfits including linen dresses and a blue and white jumpsuit, shown here. This watch is very lightweight and can be dressed up or down, worn alone or layered with other jewelry.  I have received SO many compliments on this watch.  They make a wide variety of sizes, colors, styles, many for men and women that can be worn interchangeably.  JORD also offers free worldwide shipping and the watch comes sized for your wrist perfectly.  I believe this would make a unique gift due to their engraving capabilities (the face is large and can fit quite a bit of text), as well as a great addition to your wardrobe.

Did I mention that I’m hosting a giveaway for them?  Click here to enter a giveaway for a $100 e-gift card.  One person will win, but everyone will receive a consolation code worth 10% off once the contest is over.

Easy Home Teeth Whitening

What’s better than cheese and wine? Nothing.  Not the best for your teeth though, especially when you already drink as much coffee as I do.  I’ve been thinking about whitening my teeth for the longest time.  I’ve tried Crest White Strips and even strips from the dentist but I found it to be too painful on my sensitive teeth, and extremely annoying.  When I didn’t see results after a few days, I gave up.  That being said, I’ve been considering going to the dentist to have the LED treatment done… which is expensive.  So when Smile Brilliant reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in a collaboration to review their product, I was down, albeit skeptical.

I know that I’m not the only one who drinks coffee and red wine, causing years worth of stains.  Nothing that’s exteremly noticeable, but once you whiten your teeth, you’ll wonder why you waited so long…

So, here is a before and after:

Good News/Bad News:

Bad News is that my teeth were quite sensitive in the beginning, also it burned my gums at times.  I mean, come on, you’re putting a chemical in your mouth.  What do you expect?  Good news is, this did not last for long, after a week, my teeth and gums got used to it.  It’s worth it.  I’m literally wearing the whitening trays now as I type this and I can’t feel a thing.

The Process:

The process was super easy.  You will receive a package in the mail with everything you need to make your impressions, the directions are easy to follow and it only takes a few minutes.  You then mail them back in the enclosed envelope and in about a week, you will be receive your custom fitted whitening trays.

So, technically, the directions say to not drink coffee while you’re going through the whitening process, that I ignored.  So, I guess you could say that my results could have been even more intense should I have followed the rules. I put in the white trays for 45 minutes, followed by 15 minutes of the desensitizing gel every night for 11 days in a row, and I still have enough for several more days.

The Verdict:

I would definitely recommend this at-home teeth whitening kit.  The directions do say to keep in the trays anywhere from 45 minutes up to 3 hours at a time.  I can only imagine how white my teeth could have been had I kept them in for hours.  The trays are very thin and fit snug to your teeth, so it’s not uncomfortable.  I just don’t like being unable to drink anything for a couple hours.

Needless to say, I have ZERO plans to stop drinking coffee or red wine, but now that I have this at home whitening kit, I can keep my teeth pearly white and not spend a fortune at the dentist… more money for shoes.  Win-win.

The Best Part (for you):

Smile Brilliant is offering one of my readers a $149 credit – the value of their T3 Sensitive System.  Click here to enter.  All you need to provide is your name and email address.  This giveaway is open to the US, Canada, UK, and Australia.  I will announce the winner on Instagram, on July 30th and Smile Brilliant will be reaching out to fulfill your credit.  For all others, you can use coupon code LOVEFANCYPANTS  to receive a 10% discount on your order.

As always, all opinions are my own. Good luck and CHEERS (*furiously air toasts a glass of red wine)!

beach packing list

Since we leave for the beach in under a week, I’m beginning to make a list of things that I must remember to pack.  I’ve compiled some of that list here, as my most highly recommended items to consider when packing for your next beach vacation…

  1. Pom Pom Romper Cover Up  – this cover up is only $20 and looks way cuter than a traditional oversized shirt dress
  2. Sun Bum Beach Formula 3-in-1 Leave In Conditioner – Sun and sea can do a number on your hair, especially if it is color treated, like mine.  I use this leave-in conditioner & hair sunscreen before jumping in the water.
  3. Carly Straw Tassel Tote – You gotta have a good beach bag.  Francesca’s carries many affordable beach bags as well as straw clutches, like this one here, perfect to take to dinner when on a beach vacation.
  4. Pink Seaview 180 Panoramic Full Face Snorkel Mask – If you like to snorkel, you must have this mask.  It fully covers your face and allows you breathe through your nose without anything in your mouth or nose.  And no fogging!
  5. COOLA Suncare COOLA(R) Suncare Face Mineral Sunscreen – This is one of the best sunscreens you can put on your face.  It is free from harsh chemicals that will clog your pores or burn your skin.
  6. Pool Central Giant Inflatable Flamingo Pool Float in Pink – Because who doesn’t need a giant hot pink flamingo shaped float, large enough to hold 2 adults?  I plant to tie this baby up to my overwater bungalow in Bora Bora… the only issue is that the thing weighs 10 lbs…  I guess I’ll be carrying on board the flights with me.  Stay tuned for pics…
  7. Gopro Hero 6 Black Camera – I love my GoPro.  The coolest thing about this is that I was able to attach one of the sticky mounts to the top of my full-face snorkel mask and get footage while I’m snorkeling, hands free!  Here is a video that I shot with this camera last summer in Greece.
  8. Billabong Marked for More Off the Shoulder Dress – A perfect little dress to wear to dinner, paired with my black Michael Kors espadrilles.
  9. Michael Kors Women’s Jill Leather Espadrille Platform Wedge Sandals – Not only are these a perfect “heel” for the beach, but I wear them all the time at home as well.  See another way I’ve styled it here.
  10. AMUSE SOCIETY Cross My Heart Dress – Another great beach dress, I’ll wear this for during the day exploring, going to lunch, etc.
  11. Franco Sarto Women’s Greta Sandal – A classic brown leather sandal with ankle strap that can be worn with dresses, shorts, etc.  Just don’t take them in the water.
  12. Ray-Ban Aviator Sunglasses – My signature sunglasses – blue lens, gold frame.
  13. BP. Floppy Straw Look Hat – If nothing else on this list, buy a floppy sun hat.  The sun will do damage to your face and the heat is no joke.
  14. YETI Rambler 30 oz – The price of bottled water is astronomical on certain islands, but the water is perfectly clean (cleaner than here!) and safe to drink.  Make sure to bring a Yeti to keep it cool.
  15. SEPHORA COLLECTION – #Lipstories Lipstick – Yes, lipsticks are a beach essential.  I’m loving the new Sephora #colorstories collection.  These are hyperpigmented shades that go on smooth and cost $8 each.  I have lipsticks 3x that price that aren’t as good.
  16. Backpack Cooler – Not only is bottled water expensive, so are the cocktails and beers.  We’re taking a backpack cooler to fill with ice & beer before we head out.
  17. Amalfi Belted One Piece – I’ve literally not worn a one-piece swimsuit since I was about 10 years old… but this is my year.  I’m digging this retro print/style with the added belt.  It will also be much more practical while diving and snorkeling.

What essentials would you add to the list?  Help a sister out.  I need to start packing cause lord knows I’m a procrastinator and overpacker… not a good combo.
